Wednesday's Thought of the Day

Psalm 27:1-6
“The LORD is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear?  When the evildoers come at me to devour my flesh, these my enemies and foes, themselves stumble and fall; my heart does not fear.  One thing I ask of the LORD, this I seek: to dwell in the LORD’s house all the days of my life.  For God will hide me in His shelter in time of trouble.  I will sing and chant praise to the LORD”.
REFLECTION:
We will all have troubling issues in our life when we feel as though the evil one has his hooks in us.  It is not a good place to be, but there are ways out.  God is always on our side when we cry for help.  His loving arms are always open for us.  There are times we are put to the test and these tests allow us to grow in our faith and grow in our spiritual and emotional life.  It will not always go our way, but it should always go the Holy Spirit’s way. We must discern what He is telling us and align our way with His way; it just makes life easier. With God at our side we should never fear, for He is always in control, it is when we try to go our own way that we get into trouble.  Sisters and brothers, do more listening and less talking, and God will point you in the right direction always.  When you find yourself in desolation, pray to the Holy Spirit for help and purification.  When you do this, eventually your desolation will melt away and you will find yourself in consolation. It is a process that is well worth your time.

PRAYER:

LORD God, through my own weakness I find myself sometimes in a very dark place.  A place where I feel alone and helpless.  It is that time dear Lord that I need You most and cry out for help.  Thank Your LORD for always coming to my aid and providing me shelter from the storms of life.  Thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
