Saturday's Thought of the day

Colossians 1:22-23
“He has now reconciled in his fleshly body through His death, to present you holy, without blemish, and irreproachable before Him, provided that you persevere in the faith, firmly grounded, stable, and not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven.”
When Jesus died on the cross and resurrected from the dead, He conquered sin and conquered death.  He did everything He could do for our salvation.  Let me repeat, he did everything He could do.  Through Christ’s death and resurrection, Jesus gave us a path through Him to experience salvation. He gave us a path, and it is a path we must travel. Jesus is the true Light that we must follow on this path.  Jesus shows us the righteous Way on the path.  And Jesus gives us the Truth to follow the path.  But we must be the ones that desire to stay on the path Jesus is showing us.  Just as it is said in Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you”.  To be “given” you must first ask, to find you must first seek and for the door to be opened you must first knock.  God requires action on our part and our action is dictated by our God given free will.  Sisters and brothers, to what action are you called?  God set the table for us to come dine, but we must accept His invitation.  Our RSVP is living a good Christian life.  A life where we put God above all else.  A life where we love our neighbor as ourselves.   My dear friends, come to the banquet of the LORD.

LORD Jesus, you have equipped me well to sit at Your table.  I pray I live a Christian life and be made worthy of partaking in this everlasting meal.  I pray my free will allows me to choose to stay on the path you are showing me.  Jesus, You did Your part and I pray I also do my part.  Jesus, I trust in You.  AMEN
